Happy New Year! With every new year comes new thoughts, goals, and perspectives. As time passes and seasons change, we’re gifted with the opportunity to develop a greater sense of purpose and understanding of who we are in Christ and how He has called us to spend our time while left here on earth. We are still living, breathing, and serving for a reason and with a purpose.
You may be questioning some things going on in your life right now. We are thankful to have ended 2021 on a relatively high note; healthy family, kids, steady jobs, and a loving church family to call home and worship. As good as that sounds, I’m sure 2022 will present an obstacle course of challenges that will try to knock us off course, and it might even do so at times. We are going to face disappointments, heartache, hurt, grief, temptation, and strife. That’s life though! It happens to everyone, not just YOU. Remember that…..
We are comforted in knowing that we are equipped to navigate all these trials and adversity coming our way. The tools we need are found in His word, in His promises and through prayer.
The most wonderful news is, we’re created in His image, and we do not have to achieve anything to be enough for Him.
Praise God!
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 ESV
He loves us so much that he set our position as His children at the highest rank. When we accept His offer of the greatest love, we receive His Holy Spirit to empower and guide our lives on this journey. That is where our hope, true inner comfort and peace comes from, Jesus. There really is something about that name.
The way we perceive our situations, our interactions with others, drives how we live each day, and by growing spiritually and challenging ourselves to respond like Christ, we free ourselves from the bondage of anger, fear, and shame.
Let’s strive to make this upcoming year one that’s focused on His truths, His Word, be like Him and in Him. There is no doubt if we seek Him, we’ll begin to experience an abundance of joy and peace no matter what the worldly perspective is.
Many blessings from our family to yours as you embrace this new year in seeing yourself as He does.
When life is spinning, pick your focal point!
